Important!

To enjoy our high-quality Atelier Araliya fragrance products as intensely and as long as possible, here are some very helpful tips. It is important to read this info.

Scented Candles

When lighting a candle let it burn sufficiently long. At least until the entire top layer of wax is well liquefied. This will prevent you from getting a hole (called a tunnel) in the candle. But better not leave a candle burning more than 3 hours.

If you do get a tunnel in your candle because you couldn’t let it burn long enough, carefully cut away the raised edges of the wax, so that the surface will be nicely balanced again.

Do not place a candle in a draft to prevent it from burning up too quickly (on one side). Keep children and pets away.

Also, do not place a candle in full sunlight or on or next to a heat source. And, of course, do not place a candle near flammable items.

What most people don’t think about: keep the wick short, at about half a cm. Otherwise, you will lose fragrance, the flame will get too big and shorten the life of your candle. So before each new burn, trim the wick. This is most convenient and efficient with a cradle trimmer.

Always put a candle on a suitable platter, not directly on a wooden table for instance. Because a candle holder can get quite hot.

Blowing out a candle is not a good idea because you will get smoke. Therefore, use a candle extinguisher.. This is much more elegant, by the way.

Wax Melts

  • Wax melts are very convenient to use. Place an unscented tealight in the bottom of the fragrance burner, nicely in the center.
  • Make sure the burner is on a heat-resistant flat spot, and best on a suitable saucer. Light the candle and place one or two wax melts in the top of the burner. As soon as the wax melt(s) is/are melted and you see evaporation, you will smell the scent.
  • Do not leave a fragrance burner burning for more than 3 hours at a time. After the tea light is out, you will still smell the nice fragrance.
  • A fragrance burner is best placed centrally in the room so that the scent spreads well. Also great in the bathroom when taking a relaxing bath. Or in your office space. Wherever you like.
  • Do not add water or fragrance oil to wax melts!
  • After several burns a wax melt loses its scent, so replace with new wax melt(s).
  • When the wax is liquid-but no longer hot-you can easily clean the burner with  kitchen paper. Be careful not to spill any liquid wax.
  • Solidified wax melts are best removed by pouring hot water into the fragrance burner so that the wax is submerged. Wait a moment and then you can easily remove the hard wax.

Diffusers

  • Diffusers are popular, and no wonder. You don’t have to worry about it; it doesn’t even require a tea light to diffuse a wonderful aroma. Just insert the sticks – called reeds – into the vial, and that’s it.
  • With the Atelier Araliya diffusers, you get newly conceived ones already. You don’t have to turn those sticks over every so often, as is usually the case. Our reeds absorb the scented oil so well that you can leave them untouched.
  • The more sticks you put in a diffuser, the stronger you smell the perfume.
  • Our diffuser bottles can be sealed, when you are away from home for a while or when you want to light a scented candle. So do not throw away the cap of the bottle.

Fragrance Oils

  • Fragrance oils are used in much the same way as wax melts, also in a burner. But with water. The burner should be on a flat and non-flammable surface, and best on a saucer.
  • Pour water into the burner and then add some drops of fragrance oil. How many drops depends on the fragrance strength you prefer. We recommend 4 to 10 drops.
  • Place the fragrance burner in a safe place away from children, pets and things that are flammable.
  • Place a tea light at the bottom of the burner, nicely centered. Light it, and once the mixture of water and oil begins to evaporate, you can enjoy the fragrance.
  • Make sure the mixture of water and fragrance oil does not evaporate completely, to prevent splattering. So add water and fragrance oil in time.
